Before you upload
What a release needs.
Have these ready and your release sails through.
- Final masters as WAV16 or 24-bit, 44.1 kHz or higher, stereo.
- Cover art, 3000 × 3000Square JPG or PNG. No web addresses, handles, logos or borders.
- A date at least three weeks outFour weeks or more leaves time to pitch Spotify’s editors.
- CreditsEvery writer’s full legal name, plus producers.
- The rightsYou own the masters, and any samples are cleared.

Who can apply?
Independent artists and producers with original music they own — in Kansas City or anywhere else.
How is the money split?
Your split is agreed with you before anything is released. Your portal shows every monthly statement for your music and your share of it, along with every payment we send you.
How far ahead do I upload?
At least three weeks before your release date. Four weeks or more gives you time to pitch the song to Spotify’s editors.
Can other artists see my numbers?
No. Every artist sees only their own releases, streams and earnings. Only you, anyone you ask us to add, and the Key To Lyfe team can open your portal.
Do you need my passwords or bank details?
No. You sign in with a link we email you — there’s no password — and we never ask for bank details or Social Security numbers on this site.

Privacy
What we keep, and who sees it.
What we collect
When you apply: your artist name, contact details and the links you send. When you’re an artist with us: your releases (audio, artwork, titles, credits), what you type in your portal, and the figures from the monthly statements for your music. When you sign up on a release link: your email address, for one email on release day.
What we never collect
Passwords (you sign in with an emailed link), bank details, card numbers or Social Security numbers.
Who sees it
Your portal — releases, streams, earnings — is visible only to you, the people you ask us to add, and the Key To Lyfe team. Other artists never see it. Your release files and details go to our distribution partner and the stores so they can publish your music.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Fan emails
If you asked to be told when a song comes out, you get one email on release day with an unsubscribe link, and nothing else.
